Despite the very cool morning start and a few intermittent sprinkles during the morning, a great field of 69 players competed for the Tuross Head Vets Golf Single Stableford event on 1 July. Winner on the day was Sandra Hanlon with 24 points, beating home on count back with equally good scores Ross Macalpine, John Cox, Bruce Ware and Allen Lee, with Allen missing out on the major prize money on a second round count back. Minor prizes were awarded to Mike Birks, Herb Muriwai and David Williams on 23, Paul Green, Gayle Macalpine, Margaret Downey and Greg Bush with 22, Les Johanson, Ken Brown, Warren Hodder, Don Russell, Teri Swanbury and Richard Wharton all on 21.

Jennifer Gray must have been feeling the cold and as a result was the unfortunate winner of the Tuross Vets Bradman award this week.
