The Beagle Editor, Your readers might be interested in the following article that was published in the Bay Post on MAY 5 2015 When you read it you realise that nothing has changed except that Liz Innes doesn't bother showing up to public meetings. Eurobodalla Shire councillors Milton Leslight and Liz Innes will attend Saturday’s public meeting hosted by the “Concerned Citizens of Batemans Bay” at the Soldiers Club.

Bega MP Andrew Constance will also attend but insisted it was not “his meeting”.

“People desperately want change, and change is needed,” Mr Constance said.

“The community needs an outlet. “You look at progress being made in Ulladulla, compared to that in the Eurobodalla, and that is due to the flexibility of the Shoalhaven City Council. Eurobodalla Shire Council is dragging its feet.”

Cr Leslight said Eurobodalla Shire Council was not responding to community concerns about “continuing economic deterioration” in the shire.

“We hear many complaints that council displays no genuine interest in community engagement,” Cr Leslight said.

He cited the “unconvincing effort” to inform and consult the community [about the state government’s Fit for the Future process as an example]. Pretty poor show. Meanwhile we are being asked to do more with less.

name and address supplied (still working for council)
