SAGE Veggies for All Project recognised by the IMB Bank Community Foundation

The SAGE Veggies for All project has been honoured at the recent IMB Bank Community Foundation 20th anniversary celebrations at the Australian National Gallery in Canberra, receiving two awards for their work educating and providing low cost basic veggie courses (400 participants) and fully installed veggie beds in 150 Centrelink recipients’ backyards.

Over the last 20 years, the IMB Bank Community Foundation has donated over $10milliion to more than 700 projects run by volunteer, charity and not-for-profit community groups whose work enables their communities to thrive. SAGE Vegies for All has received $25,000 in grants since 2017.

The two awards were presented by IMB Bank CEO Robert Ryan and IMB Bank Community Foundation Chair Jan Swinhoe to SAGE’s Kathryn Maxwell. Both awards are given to only 20 recipients in each category, in celebration of the foundation’s anniversary.

The first, a Spotlight Project Award for SAGE, recognises projects that are innovative and committed, and that address needs in the community around them.

The second was a Community Hero Award for SAGE Coordinator, Kathryn Maxwell. The Community Hero Awards recognise those whose tireless efforts to support others and deliver meaningful project outcomes have made a profound difference.

IMB Bank Moruya Manager, Llachlan McDonald said “we are very pleased to award Kathryn Maxwell, SAGE Veggies for All Coordinator with a Community Heroes Award. "Over the last 20 years we've had the privilege of working with many incredible community volunteers – people who tireless efforts to support others and persistence to deliver meaningful project outcomes have made a profound difference. In the foundation's 20th year, we;re delighted to recognise 20 IMB Bank Community Foundation Heroes – their remarkable effort and achievements. In the coming months the IMB Community Foundation will profile each of the community heroes, their initiatives and the positive impact they have had on our community”.

SAGE Veggies for All will be launching Veggies for All 2019 in the next few weeks. Details to be announced soon.

“In addition the SAGE Veggies for All received an IMB Bank Community Foundation Spotlight Project award. This year IMB want to shine a spotlight on some stand out projects from the last 20 years, projects that demonstrate innovation and commitment, address local needs and connect communities in the pursuit of common goals, and by doing so strengthen the communities around them”, said Llachlan McDonald.
