Rotary DG commends Narooma’s ‘Presidents Four’

Narooma Rotarians welcomed their District Governor Peter Ford last week.

DG Peter Ford was impressed that despite the Club’s small numbers Narooma Rotarians still did so much for our local community, often working together with other local groups to make community events like the Busking Championships so successful.

He was also delighted that Narooma Rotarians resolved a dilemma for 2019-2020 when no one person was prepared to take on the presidency.

“Our solution was to rotate four past presidents through the year to ensure our small but active Club continued to function,” said current Narooma President Charmaine White.

“No one was available to take the helm for the whole year so we decided to divide the year into four three-month ‘watches’ each with a different ‘captain’ to steer our Club into the next year.” Ms White, an experienced sailor, said.

Ange Ulrichsen will follow, then Bob Aston with Laurelle Pacey concluding the year.
