Robert McKirdy blitzes the Field in Special Par Event

The event this week was one unique to Tuross Vets known as a Special Par, where scores below handicap result in multiple plus results. Winner on the day was Robert McKirdy who recorded a +3 on one hole on his way to a winning score of +8 for the 9 holes played. Runner up was Herb Muriwai on +6 on count back from Richard Kelly and Terry Challender with the same scores. Balls or chocolates were won by Bruce Martin and Neal Watson on +5, Sandra Hanlon, Neil Mather, John Cox and Steve Swanbury on +4, Barry Hoban and Les Johanson on +3, and finally Frank Pomfret, Peter MacDonald, Bruce Ware, Gail Rogers and Greg Smith all on +2.

The Bradman award this week was won by Ron Hanlon. For the first time on record five players  scored birdies on the 4th hole forcing a random draw to determine the winner, with the result going in Graham Moore's favour. Other NTPs went to Bruce Martin on the 6th, and to Dorothy Madden and Frank Pomfret on the 7th. Leonie Snodgrass won the Accuracy award.
