Road closures on Congo Road south

A one kilometre section of Congo Road will be rebuilt, completing the bitumen seal from the village south to Bingie Road.

The $880,000 project has been designed to minimise impact on vegetation while meeting road standards and providing safer access into Congo. Work begins on Monday 10 February and is expected to finish in April.

During construction work hours – 7am to 4pm weekdays – the section of road may be closed, and access to Congo limited to the northern route for periods of time. The road will remain fully open to traffic outside of 7am and 4pm on weekdays, and all weekend. Vehicle message boards will be in place to remind motorists of the changed conditions.

School buses will be permitted through the work site at their usual times.
