In what has been widely commented on as "disgusting electioneering" in support of a South Coast candidate by Prime Minister Scott Morrison the Pub Test question for Beagle Readers is: "Did the Prime Minister answer the question today around failures in Bushfire support and instead use the question to promote a local candidate?" A little background first: The SMH Headline in March 2021 was Bega MP Andrew Constance says he will quit politics after bushfire recovery that reported the then NSW Transport Minister and Bega MP Andrew Constance said "he will quit politics once the bushfire recovery is complete." Seven months later, with bushfire recovery in Eden Monaro and Gilmore no where near "complete" Andrew Constance resigned NSW Government announcing he would run for a Federal seat. This wasn't the first time we heard that the local member wanted to leave State politics and try his hand at Federal. In May 2020 he announced he was going to announcing he would seek Liberal pre-selection at the Eden-Monaro by-election against Kristy McBain. ABC reported he then abandoned his bid to enter the federal Parliament less than 24 hours after announcing it saying "I need to remain focused on the bushfire recovery and be grateful for the opportunities I already have." This time the ex-local member has been pre-selected tol stand against Fiona Phillips, the Federal Member for Gilmore. When the announcement of pre-selection candidates was made many thought it was the kiss of death for Constance with the ABC Headline Scott Morrison's pick for Gilmore, Andrew Constance, faces pre-election showdown Interestingly the SMH reported that the Liberal candidate was distancing himself from the support of the Prime Minister. In Parliamentary Question Time on February 15th 2022 the Member for Gilmore, Fiona Philips specifically asked the Prime Minister: "My question is to the prime minister. Over the weekend, the New South Wales premier said South Coast communities were still struggling with bushfire recovery and admitted his government could have done better."

"Will the prime minister also admit he failed my community by failing to deliver the support he promised? " As you watch this video and listen to the Prime Minister's response reflect on what you know first hand of the real status of the South East bushfire recovery you might discover that Andrew Constance is still very much the 'apple' of Scott Morrison's eye.
