Proof that our tourists love a smiling face and local knowledge

Southbound Escapes post: "We had 776 people walk into the Narooma Visitor Information Centre in October with double the amount of overseas visitors from the previous month. The sun is shining and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone over Summer". Bring it on:

51 Overseas

66 Local (2546 postcode)

463 NSW

100 VIC

47 QLD

47 ACT

12 SA

3 WA

2 TAS

5 NT

The figures above are terrific results given that a previous term of Eurobodalla Council decided, via a consultant's recommendation, that it would no longer support funding Visitor Information Centres in Batemans Bay and Narooma declaring instead that "the fish" (being tourist) look to the internet for their travel information and that it would be best to redirect their tourism budget to "where the fish are biting" being social media and pointed advertising. Reading between the lines on Council closing Visitor Centres: Just ask a local

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
