Peter Vassallo: Working with 100% enthusiasm

Peter Vassallo, well known for his photography, is also responsible for getting online orders to the Post Office on schedule for Moruya Cycles.

“Pete started work experience in February and within a month he started his new job,” said Zoe Buckley, Employment Consultant at WorkAbility.

“Work experience is a great pathway to a paid job,” says Zoe.

“Pete’s role is an important part of our business,” said Angus Murphy, manager of Moruya Cycles, “He makes sure we keep on top of our online orders and ship on time.”

Zoe approached Moruya cycles for a position for Pete, given Pete’s enthusiasm for tinkering on his trike she thought this would be a great fit. Angus, Zoe and Pete decided that a short work experience would be helpful in working out what Pete’s duties would look like and how we could best tailor the position for him.

Pete’s daily duties are to pack online orders and take to post office in the basket of his trike. Pete also does pricing of items and placing on display. Pete also assists with minor repair work with the bike mechanic, Joel, in the workshop.

“This is a great place to work, we have all kinds of bikes and accessories. I love being part of the team,” said Peter.

“Our team wear hats with the 100% brand. We all agree – this bike shop is 100% enthusiasm,” said Peter.
