Paul West becomes Ambassador

Celebrity Chef and former River Cottage Australia host Paul West is the Ambassador for the 2020 Narooma Oyster Festival (NOF), 1-2 May.

“No one knows our region and its produce better than Paul West, so he’s the perfect person to promote this year’s Oyster Festival,” said NOF Chair Cath Peachey.

Paul’s first official outing as Ambassador was on the Today Show at Batemans Bay on Friday where he praised the qualities of the Rock Oyster and the far south coast’s pristine waterways where they grow.

Paul is a highly respected chef, passionate about sustainable food production, producing and buying local food and the delicious culinary creations that can result, and hosted the popular TV series River Cottage Australia (RCA), filmed at Central Tilba.

He is also an ABC presenter of the popular Gardening Australia, Back Roads and Catalyst TV programmes and the author of two cook books.

Paul and oyster industry guru John Susman will co-host the Festival’s Long Table Dinner on the Friday night (1 May) beside Wagonga Inlet. This is an epicurean experience that celebrates rock oysters and South Coast produce, supported by Whale Coast Realty. Long Table ticket sales are now online.

Check the Narooma Oyster Festival webpage www.naroomaoysterfestival.com and Facebook for more information about the Festival.
