nbn launches education session on Batemans Bay Business Fibre Zone to support local growth

Locals can learn more about the Batemans Bay Business Fibre Zone at a special event this month to help businesses make the most of the new initiative. More than 100 businesses within the zone can access NBN Co’s premium business-grade fibre Enterprise Ethernet at the same wholesale price as the capital cities. The Batemans Bay zone is one of 240 Business Fibre Zones designed to expand the access of Enterprise Ethernet to around 700,000 businesses nationally at no charge for the fibre deployment to the service provider and at reduced wholesale prices, up to 67 per cent for some businesses¹. Enterprise Ethernet is NBN Co’s fastest symmetrical wholesale product and premium-grade business offering. It has options for prioritised traffic, high capacity and symmetrical upload and download wholesale speeds from 10Mbps to close to 1Gbps², as well as enhanced 24/7 support through the business nbn™ Operations Centre with a dedicated team located in Australia. The event will be held at Lincoln Downs Resort on Tuesday 23 February from 7am. Registrations are essential, as numbers are limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. NBN Co Head of State Media, Jane McNamara, said: “Business Fibre Zones are all about providing businesses with choice and availability to help unlock potential growth and productivity gains associated with technology investment and adoption, including job creation. “Around 130 businesses within Batemans Bay and surrounds will have access to fast and reliable connectivity at a time when reliance on driving online presence, digital collaboration platforms and cloud-based tools has never been more significant for businesses. “The education session is part of NBN Co’s ongoing commitment to educate communities and ensure local businesses are aware of the solutions available for continued resilience and growth into the future.”

1. nbn is a wholesale and does not control charges by service providers. Customers should contact their preferred service provider to ask about any fees and charges from their provider that maybe applicable. This offer is not available for premises that have complex connection and for most premises in the nbn™ Fixed Wireless or Satellite footprints. Further costs will apply to premises outside of the eligibility zone. 2. Regardless of the retail service you purchase, the actual wholesale speeds delivered by the business nbn™ Enterprise Ethernet product will be less than 1Gbps and no more than 952Mbps due to equipment and network limitations. An end customer’s experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on some factors outside our control (like their equipment quality, software, and how their retail service provider designs its network). If your service provider has not selected the Class of Service – High, the speeds you experience may be affected by contention on the nbn™ network, particularly in busy periods.
