The last day of Summer found 19 bowlers enjoying the morning, combining for two pairs games and two rinks of triples. Thanks to Jenny Coulson for playing 'swinging lead' in her game.
The team with the 'highest winning score' was chosen to decide the day's prize winners. On rink 13 Sue Wales combined well with Gail Palmer (skip) and were six shots ahead after 11 ends. A good recovery by Denise Holman and Vicki Herman (skip) saw them 19 to 15 shots ahead after eighteen ends, however Sue and Gail won the last three ends, to hold the highest winning score of 22 shots and win the money.
Denise Holman was the happy winner of the raffle, thanks to Rapley and Sons Butchery.
Alison Maloney won the 50Club winner.
Club Fours Final
Following overnight rain Friday was a grey, cloudy day for the final of the Club Fours.
Alison Maloney, Pam Grant, Gail Howe and Sandra Breust (skip) took the lead early, then Clare Cork, Sue Sansom, Sue Wales and Carol Harroway (skip) reduced the deficit and soon scores were eight all after 11 ends. Carol's team kept in touch to lead by 10-9 on the 14th end.
Then, Sandra's team increased the pressure and continued on for a comfortable 20 – 11 win.
Congratulations to Sandra and her team on winning the Club Fours Championship for 2023. Commiserations to Carol's team. Thanks to all who entered, there were some great bowls played.
