Narooma Men’s Bowls Social Bowls Winners’ Circle

On Wednesday we had a good turnout of 40 bowlers with winners decided by Highest Winning Margin and this week the winners were Jim Constan and John Redman (skip) who led 16 to 12 after 13 ends before drawing clear over the last few ends for a 27 to 15 win against Darrell Goodridge and Cindy Newell (skip). Second place went to Jon King, Barry Goodwin and John Voytas (skip) who, after being down zero to six after three ends, raced away to lead 20 to 11 after 14 ends before sharing the score after that for a 26 to 17 win against Mark Adams, Don Caldwell and Greg Riley (skip). Thank you to Rapley and Son, Narooma Plaza, for their continued support.

On Sunday we had three rinks of triples and a rink of pairs with the winners, decided by Lowest Winning Score, were Enid Brooker and promising skip, Jan Rapkins (skip) who had a close game with the lead changing on four occasions early on and it was all square at 13 all after 11 ends before they gradually drew clear for a 19 to 16 win against Sue Sansom and Steve Smith (skip). Second place went to Robyn Hazelgrove, Garry South and Neil Vernon (skip) who started well to lead 14 to five after 11 ends before having a close tussle in the second half as they ran out 21 to 14 winners against Maree Smith, Graeme Howden and Jim Douglas (skip). It was great to see our wonderful friends from Thirroul back again, we look forward to their next visit.

Minor Singles Championship

There was one match played this week with Jim Constan taking on John Redman. Jim Constan was on song throughout and after shooting out to a 17 to three lead after 11 ends he continued to counter any comeback from John and went on to win the match 25 to eight.
