The CWA Narooma AGM was held on Friday 11th October with Helen Galton, Far Sth Coast Group President attending to chair the election of new office bearers. To steer the goodship Narooma branch till October 2020 is Louise Starkie, President; Sally James, Secretary and Margaret Doyle, Treasurer. Most other positions were filled with the same names or to be branch efforts. This is partly due to falling membership, health or age. As Narooma CWA will celebrate 90 years of service in August 2020, it would be a shame to see the branch not make it’s centenary 10 years on. CWA is more than tea and scones, resolutions affecting many areas of daily life are taken to State Conference, and once supported by vote there, appropriate levels of govt and its depts are approached by State Executive to act on these. One currently in news that was at recent conference was Quad bike safety. If you would like to learn more about CWA, look up website CWA of NSW, come along to Narooma monthly meeting 1st Friday of month 1pm or phone Sally James 4476-1691 or Lousie Starkie 4476-5131.
