Traffic was diverted to Northbound via Bowen St and Southbound by way of Bluewater Dr, Ballingalla St, Clarke St to re-join the Princes Hwy

This diversion was suitable for light vehicles only with heavy vehicles being parked until the site was cleared around 4:00pm.

It is understood that a northbound sedan and a southbound van towing a trailer collided in the southbound lane with the female driver of the sedan trapped in her vehicle before being freed by attending emergency service personnel. Reports coming in advise that paramedics treated the driver, who died at the scene while the driver of the van was airlifted to Canberra Hospital suffering fractures.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
