The Beagle Editor,
Interesting observation from yesterday’s rally outside the Council Chambers.
We saw and heard a lot more support than usual from the passing traffic in response to the Beep for Climate Action sign. Beeps and encouraging waving, especially from young kids in the cars. You have to give it to the kids – they are fully aware of what’s happening, and what needs to happen. Too bad our “leaders” aren’t.
And speaking of kids, as Ruselle and I arrived about the same time and I busied myself setting stuff up, two young boys came up to thank her for what she was doing. How good is that?! (I was so amused that the young lady in Sydney who had been heavily involved in organising climate rallies and who had been told off by the Prime Muppet came in with an ATAR of 99.15 giving her entry into any of the courses she wishes to follow. And now more interested in following politics as a career. Bring it on! And sucko Prime Muppet! That worked out well, didn’t it!)
And thank you to the “Anonymous Donor” who foisted some delicious cakes from a local bakery on to us. We fell upon them ravenously.
Reminder to Council, an urn with cups of tea and coffee would go down well out there on Friday mornings.
You could put the cost down to “adapting to climate change”, as that budget doesn’t seem to have been touched yet…. And, in case you were wondering, yes, Russelle will be there in her Office (on the front lawn of the Council Chamber) next Friday.
Not for her a holiday in Hawai’i, she has work to do!
I’ll be there too, and I’m sure will be many of the others. Come down and join us. Even if you don’t agree with what we’re doing. We can have an invigorating chat.

Above: No Hawai’i holiday for Ruselle as she and her supporters gain momentum and the attention of locals and visitors to Council's determination to not recognise Climate Change
