Moruya RSL meets spread out

MORUYA Returned Soldiers League met for the first time since February, as usual in the Memorial Hall on Tuesday afternoon but in the Hall itself where there was room to spread out and keep social distancing. As another mark of the situation members had their temperatures taken, with all returning satisfactory results.

Eighteen members were there, not much less than the usual monthly meetings.

President Kevin Setter was in the chair, but didn’t have much to report. He did give an outline of improvements made to the hall, in particular the kitchen, since the February meeting.

Members were told that Rose Bay RSL had contacted the sub-branch offering donations of up to $1000 to any member who had been affected by the bushfires. Some members had benefited. There was some discussion about possible events later this year to make up for the diminished Anzac Day activities, but no decisions were made.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
