WHILE there will be no monthly meeting for Moruya Probus this month the Club’s committee met for the first time this year at the Adelaide Hotel on Tuesday morning.
It was a brief meeting with discussion including a proposed increase for the annual fee from $25 to $30. That will be put to the next monthly meeting for ratification.
There was also some discussion about a proposed change of name for the Club and a start on securing nominations for office in the 2020-21 year. One decision was to hold the changeover luncheon in March at Moruya Gold Club again.
The next full meeting will be held at the Golf Club on February 25 with the guest speaker to be Amanda Annabel from Euroscope/Toastmasters.
Moruya Probus meets at Moruya Golf Club at ten-o’clock on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
There are many advantages to being a member of Probus. Apart from meeting new friends, and sometimes some old ones, there are opportunities of being involved in outings. There are discounts for some members with restaurants and hotels and more reasonable travel insurance rates that seniors may otherwise be offered. And there are no obligations to give talks.
