Moruya Probus growing

MORUYA Probus has four more new prospective members, Membership Officer Carolyn Winters told Tuesday’s meeting of the Club’s committee. They would bring membership to 52.

It was a brief meeting with some discussion of the Club’s annual photographic competition, to be decided at the monthly meeting on September 24, the subject this year being Winter. Past President Max Hogno, who seems to keep a firm grip on such things, said there were already some entries. While the competition is open only to members and close family people who are not members but will be interested in joining will be welcome, as is usual, to here and see what goes on.

There was also some discussion of an invitation from Eurobodalla Classic and Historic Car Club for Probus members to take part in one of the car club’s Wednesday outings. A program of them for the rest of the year will be discussed at the next monthly meeting.

Moruya Probus meets at Moruya Golf Club at ten-o’clock on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

There are many advantages with being a member of Probus. Apart from meeting new friends, and sometimes some old ones, there are opportunities of being involved in outings. There are discounts for some members with restaurants and hotels and more reasonable travel insurance rates that seniors may otherwise be offered. And there are no obligations to give talks. Anyone considering membership should call President Diane Montgomerie on 4471 8629. Or turn up at a meeting.
