When the fires raged through Mogo earlier this year, the Woodies Guild lost their home base in the Old Gold Rush Colony. They lost not only their accommodation but all of their expensive equipment.

They are currently liaising with Eurobodalla Shire Council about finding alternative accommodation but this could take a long time depending on availability of a site and subsequent replacement of equipment.

When the Moruya Community Workshed heard of their plight, its members voted to open their doors to the group, inviting them to become part of the Workshed and share the use of their equipment.

Several members of the Woodies have now visited the Workshed to meet its members over a cuppa and to view their Shed. Everyone is hopeful of a continuing relationship between the two groups.

The Moruya Community Workshed is open to both men and women and is located within the grounds of Moruya High School. It is currently open every Wednesday and Friday. Members will be holding their AGM on Wednesday 30 September at 10am so now might be a good opportunity to join them and work on that project you have been thinking about for so long.
