Despite a few late cancellations yet another strong field of 64 players registered for the Tuross Head Veterans Golf Single Stableford event today. Based on the scores returned the course is either playing easier than in past weeks or the handicapper needs to be tougher! Winner on the day was Margaret Downey with a fine score of 26 points for the 9 holes played. The next 3 placings all required count backs with Ann Ware edging out Paul Coffey and Richard Kelly, all players having scored 24 points. Minor prizes were awarded to Rick Brake on 23, Noel Downie and Enid Besant-Ryan on 22, Robert McKirdy, Ray Downey, Derek Hoare, Tony Crook, Peter McRae, Len Rogers, Ross Macalpine, Henry Anderson, Ian Manton and Warren Hodder all on 21, and finally John Cox on 20 points after a multiple way count back. Don Russell was the unfortunate winner of this week's Bradman Award.
