Malarky or a Learning Curve

To the Beagle Editor,

Covid vaccines

We are two seniors who have just driven 150kms round trip in a rain storm to get a first dose of the vaccine. Previously, we drove 250kms over seriously potholed roads for one of us to get the first dose. This has been necessary as there is no location near us, either at Batemans Bay or Moruya, where this can be done anytime soon. When we tried to book into our GPs ( as the NSW Premier is always advising us) we were told we could not get the second dose there as we had not had the first dose at the clinic. This is completely contrary to the Commonwealth Department of Health’s advice as per the Covid Helpline. Are we the only ones going through this or are other people also getting this malarkey. When I questioned the receptionist at my GPs she said it was a learning curve. Indeed, some learning curve! Inge Rumble Rocque Berthiaume
