Liberals in Federal disarray after solid defeat received in Bega by-election

The NSW Liberal party are understood to be calling a meeting next week to determine a way forward and a candidate to stand in Federal Election for the seat of Eden Monaro. Their usual candidate, Fiona Kotvojs, failed dismally in the recent Bega by-election resulting in a massive swing that saw the seat go to Labor candidate Dr Michael Holland. Fiona Kotvojs has already lost twice in Federal elections while standing for the Liberal Party in the seat of Eden Monaro. Her first defeat was against Mike Kelly and the second against current incumbent, Kristy McBain. Meanwhile the New Daily reports that a Supreme Court challenge has been launched against the Prime Minister's attempt to lead a takeover of the New South Wales Liberals and secure pre-selections for three MPs. Scott Morrison already has a track record of political interference in the South East with his "Captian's Pick" of Warren Mundine in the last election. Failing dismally the Liberals have now preselected another Prime Minister endorsed candidate to challenge the current Federal member, Fiona Phillips. Just a month or so out from a Federal election it will be interesting to see if the Prime Minister dares to return to the South East given the reception he received last time he was here, following the bushfires.

Above: Who will Morrison endorse to stand in Eden Monaro? Is his endorsement of Andrew Constance a "kiss of death" as it was with Warren Mundine?
