Scott Morrison has offered his congratulations to Dr Fiona Kotvojs on being selected by local Party members as the local Liberal candidate for the upcoming Eden Monaro by-election.

The Prime Minister said "Fiona is a true local with an outstanding, proven track record of serving her community, including over a decade as a volunteer for the Rural Fire Service. She has also served her country as a defence force reservist."
"Fiona began her career as a high school teacher and has a doctorate in education but now runs a fully sustainable farm in the area with her husband Alan where they raise cattle and grow truffles."
"The many communities that make up the Eden Monaro electorate are working hard to build back stronger."
"The next two years will be a critical period in this build back process. This is why I need Fiona Kotvojs as part of our Liberal Nationals Government team, as the local MP in Eden Monaro, to ensure we best support these communities to move ahead and build back stronger."
Six parties and two independent candidates have confirmed their intention to field a candidate in the by-election.
