Legacy Week will run from August 28th to September 3rd.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions this annual event has had to be changed significantly. Volunteers were unable to sell badges and had to raise money by seeking tax deductible donations from the members of the local communities they continue to support.
The Narooma Legacy Group supports surviving spouses and dependent children of deceased war veterans living in the Narooma, Tuross, Moruya, Tilba and Bermagui areas.
As Legatees (Legacy Volunteers) they assist over one hundred widows financially, practically, emotionally and socially, to ensure they are able to live safely and happily, often without local family support. In the north of the region the Batemans Bay Legacy group currently looks after one hundred and twenty veterans' families.
One of their annual major fundraising events is Legacy Badge week so keep an eye out for their volunteers at local shopping centres.
