IRT Dalmeny returns to full compliance

IRT Group CEO Patrick Reid yesterday advised residents, family members and employees of IRT Dalmeny that the aged care centre has returned to full compliance.

Located near Narooma on the South Coast of NSW, IRT Dalmeny cares for around 50 older Australians in a residential aged care setting.

A visit by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission earlier this year found the aged care centre did not meet the accreditation standards in a number of areas. As a result, the Department of Health placed a six-month sanction on the centre to ensure it made the required improvements within a set timeframe.

“The team at IRT Dalmeny has worked extremely hard to make the necessary improvements within the required timeframe. We’re very appreciative for everyone’s dedication to providing excellent person-centred care and for the support of our employees, residents and their families during this period,” Mr Reid said.

The sanction expired on 15 August and IRT Dalmeny met all accreditation standards during a site visit on 17 September. On 21 October, the Department of Health formally closed the case.
