Investigation work continues on the new South Batemans Bay Link Road - from Aug 26th

Planning for the new South Batemans Bay Link Road is progressing well as work continues on geotechnical investigations at the site.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said the NSW Government has provided $30 million for the development and delivery of the connection of the Link Road with the Princes Highway to the south of Batemans Bay.

“Geotechnical investigations are now underway to inform the development of early design options,” the spokesperson said.

“The data from these investigations will be used alongside land and utility surveys and traffic modelling to develop  design options for a safe and efficient connection for the Link Road and Princes Highway.”

Investigations will be carried out on The Ridge Road from Monday 26 August and continue during weekdays between 7am and 6pm and Saturdays between 8am and 1pm for around three weeks, weather permitting.

The Ridge Road will be closed to traffic during work hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between the Princes Highway and Glenella Road. Traffic will be detoured via George Bass Drive.

A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h may also be required at times on the Princes Highway near The Ridge Road intersection and motorists are advised to check roadside electronic message boards for updates.
