Injured Bushwalker retrieved from top of closed Gulaga walking trail

Narooma Rescue Squad - NSW Volunteer Rescue Association Inc. were called to assist Ambulance NSW to sucessfully retrieve a 67yo lady with a complicated fracture ankle from near the top of Gulaga (Mt Dromadary). The squad received the call at 5.26pm on Saturday and dispatched their four-wheel-drive to access the steep track that provides rudimentary access to the saddle near the top of the mountain. It is not known why the woman was up there as the National Parks are very clear in their advice that the walking trail is closed. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
