The South Coast Police District has seen an increase registration plates being stolen from vehicles. Often enquiries would find that these stolen plates are attached to other vehicles, sometimes stolen vehicles, which are then used in a committing of further offences. These further offences can range from failing to pay for fuel, to more serious matters like robberies. To avoid this from occurring to you think of possible installation of sensor lights or CCTV footage on your property where your vehicle is kept. Consider the option of using registration shield or even anti-theft number plate screws.

If suspicious activity is observed in your area be sure to contact your local police station, the Police Assistance Line or Crime Stoppers.
