If we measure a place by its toilets then Eurobodalla is "The Pits"

Following the rise in backlash around public toilet maintenance in the Eurobodalla local Tuross resident John Tilbrook made the observation that the standard of cleanliness at both the Coila Toilet Block and the Main Beach Toilet Block was extremely poor with no sign of any cleaning activity.

John said "Like the Evan Park Toilet Block, the indications are from the Cleaners Record Board on the outside of the toilets that they have not been attended to since 17 May 2019 (last recorded clean on 3 x toilet blocks).

"The Main Beach toilet is particularly bad, and at the Coila Toilet Block the cubicle in the Mens Toilet is locked from the inside and cannot be accessed.

John suggests that there needs to be a management regime for following up on cleaning contact performance to ensure value for ratepayers money saying "The standard of public toilets is noted by all, and especially tourists and visitors who have to rely upon then for their ablutions. Perhaps the Ranger can inspect toilets on a regular basis and report findings to Council staff?" Across the shire the complaints around public toilets continues with anecdotes aplenty balanced with stories of other regions providing toilets with soap, sanitisers and even flowers (in Braidwood). Feel free to comment below with any photos of your local public toilet you would like our councillors and senior management to be aware of.
