Ian Manton Takes Out Vets Stableford Event

A good field of 58 players teed off for the Single Stableford event, recent rains and greens rejuvenation seemingly having a positive effect on the scores. Winner on the day was Ian Manton with fine score of 25 points, followed home by Kaye Lunt on 23, with Greg Bush easing out Barry Hoban on count back, both players scoring 22. Balls or chocolates were won by Steve Collins on 21, Dorothy Madden, Enid Besant-Ryan, Kathy Crossling, Chris Wratten, Geoff Bellingham and Neil Mather all on 20, and Solveig Olsson, Noel Fletcher, Des Jackson and Tony Crook taking home the final prizes on 19. All winners on the day played below handicap.

The Bradman award went to Len Rogers, with nearest the pions to Ian Manton on the 4th, Steve Collins on the 6th, and Dorothy Madden and Ken Brown on the 7th. Shirley Quinlan took out the Accuracy award.
