With many players away preparing for Christmas, a smaller than usual field of 56 players registered for the postponed Tuross Head Veterans Golf 4BBB Stableford event on Wednesday 23 December.
The course was playing well following recent rains and this was reflected in the high scores recorded.
Winners on the day were Kevin Dukes combining with John Cox with a fine team score of 27 points. They were followed home by brothers Peter and Paul Coffey on 26, husband and wife Ray and Margaret Downey with 25 on count back, and finally Des Jackson and David Williams also on 25.
Minor prizes were won by Dorothy and Blaise Madden on 24, Derek Hoare and Peg Nevett on 23, and five teams on 22, these being Steve Gardner and Warren Hodder, Neil Mather and Gail Rogers, David Williams and Allen Lee, Shirley and Ted Quinlan, and lastly Neal Watson and Greg Smith.
The Bradman award was a tightly contested affair with the result going to Ann and Terry Challender on count back.
