Have your say on the environmental assessment and concept design for the South Batemans Bay Link Rd

The community is encouraged to provide feedback on the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and concept design for the South Batemans Bay Link Road project.

Transport for NSW Regional Director Southern, Jo Parrott, said feedback is invited until Sunday 24 May.

“Batemans Bay currently experiences congestion along Beach Road and in the central business district due to growth in the region and increased traffic during peak holiday periods,” Ms Parrott said.

“The project would improve road connections to the communities south of Batemans Bay and support the long term growth and development of the South Coast region.”

The NSW Government has committed $30 million to connect the Princes Highway to Glenella Road, which will complete the project.

Transport for NSW has completed the environmental assessment and developed a concept design for the proposal.

Ms Parrott said the proposal includes a new roundabout on the Princes Highway, with. Glenella Road also upgraded as a new two lane road which connects to the highway.

“Key benefits include better, safer and more reliable trips for people and business between the Princes Highway and southern coastal villages, improved traffic flow in the Batemans Bay town centre, and increased access to support future growth,” Ms Parrott said.

The new roundabout would have two southbound lanes, a northbound right turn lane to Glenella Road and a northbound bypass lane on the Princes Highway.

To learn more about the project, or to view the concept design and REF, visit the project webpage at nswroads.work/sbblr.

To allow community members to learn more about the project and provide feedback, Transport for NSW will hold an online Q&A session via Facebook Live to give the community an opportunity to ask the project team questions.

The 30 minute session will be hosted online on Friday 8 May from 12:30pm to 1pm.

Follow NSW Roads on Facebook for updates and event invites.

For those unable to access Facebook, please call the project team on 1800 549 159.

The session will be recorded and added to the project webpage afterwards.

To make a submission you can use the online feedback form at nswroads.work/sbblr or email southbatemansbaylinkroad@transport.nsw.gov.au.

All feedback must be submitted by Sunday 24 May.

Feedback received will help further refine the design of the South Batemans Bay Link Road project and we will keep the community updated as the project progresses.
