Have Council forgotten who employs them and who they represent?
The Beagle Editor, Readers of The Beagle are discovering more and more about the failings of Council's new, you-beaut website. Anyone who watches the council and relies on its archives and the ability to search those archives, like myself, are appalled that the search is all but useless. The modern, feel good changes on the website should have had no impact at all on the file structure behind the scenes. Now half the links work and half of them don't. What a mess. For your interest I have sent the following letter to the General Manager and all the Eurobodalla Shire Councillors.
Council's New Web page seems to be only promoting the Councils executive staff, directors.
Why isn’t the Council Organisational Structure Web Page Tree, showing the Community at the top, then the elected and then the General Manager and the executive staff or directors in that order?
You would all have to admit the new search program is a real disappointment, needing to be fixed, when will that occur?
But what needs to be remembered with the Council processes, is that, without the shire having residents and ratepayers, the shire council wouldn’t exist.
Why aren’t the people, the shires communities, being recognised at the top of the New Organisational Structure Tree ?
Above: The Organisation chart in 2018 rightly recognised the community and the Council above the Executive staff. Now the website provides photos of the Executive and doesn't even bother providing photos of the councillors as it once did.
