Greg Thornton wins Tuross Head Vets Golf

Despite a number of absences for grand parenting duties during school holidays, a good field of 62 players registered for the Tuross Head Wednesday Vets Golf Single Stableford event this week. Winner on the day was Greg Thornton with a fine score of 25 points. Greg beat home three players with 24 points, with the count back determining the placings as runner up Greg Smith, in 3rd Terry Lunn and the final major prize winner being Kathy Crossling. Minor prizes went to Neil Mather and Herb Muriwai on 23, Margaret Downey, Allen Lee and Teri Swanbury with 22, Ross Hendy, Dorothy Madden, Ian Wratten and Steve Gardner on 21, and the last grouping of Leonie Snodgrass, Les Johanson, Paul Pereira and Kevin Dukes all with 20 points. John Cox won the infamous Bradman award on count back from Mike Birks.
