Tuross Head Country Club golfers welcomed PGA golfer Brendan Jones on a visit to the club this week. Brendan is a former Tuross junior golf member, and has won 15 Japanese tour events, during his golfing career.  He has always been a strong supporter of the club’s junior golf coaching clinics. Tuross Head men’s golf Saturday’s stableford competition, held in excellent playing conditions, was won by Martin Booth with a score of 39 points. On a day of close competitive golf, the runner ups were only one stroke behind the winner, with four  players recording scores of 38 points. After countbacks, Christopher Forbes, Tony Brown, Steve Collins and Adam Wilson filled the  remaining award positions. Thursday’s medley stableford competition was won by Ron Rogers with 37 points, ahead of Tony Russell 35 points, John Phyland 35 points and Ray Bollard and Lachlan Nordsvan both on 34 points. Andrew Gordon, men’s golf president made a presentation to Greg Smith for a hole in one scored during an earlier competition.
