The George Bass Surfboat and Ski Marathon has been run and won for another year.
Organisers say "It was nice to not be impacted by natural disasters or have Covid feature too heavily this event. The weather was not too kind in the second half of the week but we thank everyone for adjusting their plans and making the best of the situation.
"Our sincere apologies to the family of the late Nick Dixon, who in the business of the lead up to the event, we overlooked extending an invitation to Claudia and family to present the Nick Dixon trophy at the presentations after the first leg.
"At the final presentation, we acknowledged Bruce Frost for his contribution to this Bass with the Al Armstrong award. FSC Life Member and former Branch President, Bruce, kindly volunteered as our Announcer and was able to draw on his many years involved with the event and the Branch. A huge week, Bruce followed the race to the start and finish of each leg and provided a great service of information to the spectators on the beach. Thank you Bruce".
"The last leg and overall results of each of the boat and ski categories are now available to view. Note, the overall winners are calculated by a cumulative total of points over the 7 days, not the overall time".
