Gallery Bodalla: Gordon Robinson and Annie Franklin March 27th to April 18th

The evocative and beautiful works of much loved artists Gordon Robinson and Annie Franklin feature in the next exhibition at Gallery Bodalla commencing Saturday 27 March running through to Sunday 18 April.

In this show Annie will be exhibiting a mix of small en plein air gouache paintings, created both before and after the landscape was transformed in the summer of 2019/20, as well as studio based oil paintings and assemblages that combine paint, wood and ceramic elements.

Gordon’s series ‘constellations’ has been created over the past 15 months. It was begun during the days and nights of summer when the sky was obliterated by smoke. His mixed media works on paper are a response to the year since then.

Annie and Gordon both work in the studio they built together in Lake Wapengo. They have been painting alongside each other for the past 17 years on various group and solo shows. This work comes out of a shared space and shared sensibility, each artist with a different approach. It is their first exhibition together.

COVID protocols: maintain physical distance of 1.5 metres, hand sanitise and numbers in the Gallery at one time will be limited, masks will be available if you would like to wear one.
