There will be a further boost to facilities at the Moruya Showground with a NSW Government grant of $124,000 to build an emergency animal shelter, after Eurobodalla Council applied for funding last year.

The shelter will provide a safe, all-weather venue for livestock, particularly horses, in the event of bushfire or flood. At other times it will be used for agricultural events and by equestrian groups.

The new enclosure is a part of Council’s masterplan for the showground, which has seen a new entry road, improved drainage, extra car parking, better disability access, and new kerb and guttering installed at the well-loved site.
