Current and ex-defence force personnel living in regional NSW will be able to travel for free on public transport to and from events this Anzac Day long weekend.
All modes of public transport in regional areas will be free for veterans and their families, including those of deceased service personnel, from Saturday 23 to Monday 25 April to allow them to attend commemorative services.
This will enable the opportunity to attend services further afield if you book a return ticket from a regional NSW location.
Regional residents wanting to take up the free travel on NSW TrainLink services must make a booking on 13 22 32 and provide documentation of their status on an official RSL letterhead at the time of booking and while travelling.
Free travel recipients are required to wear the Australian Defence Uniform; or display service medals; or carry a letter of accreditation from an ex-services organisation; or present a war widow’s gold card.
