Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
For Mother’s Day, I want to be able to spend the day with my children knowing they have a safe future ahead of them.
For this to happen, the government needs to take action on climate change.
I want the government to commit to a greener future – zero emissions by 2030 and jobs being created in climate positive projects rather than climate damaging projects such as coal, gas and oil.
It is my role as a mother to protect my children and provide them with everything they need for a happy and safe future.
When the Government does not act on climate change, I cannot offer my children the future they deserve.
When my children are grown and don’t need me as much as they do now, I want to be able to tell them we did everything we could to ensure their future was safe and that we took care of our planet for them.
After all, we don’t own the earth, we are only borrowing it from our children.
