Flood Watch for parts of South Coast In addition to the existing flood warnings, widespread and heavy rainfall associated with a deepening low pressure trough over western NSW has the potential to cause minor to major flooding over parts of the NSW East Coast and parts of the South West, Central West and North West.
A Severe Weather Warning is current.
Catchments likely to be affected by flooding are currently wet due to recent rainfall.
The weather system is expected to cause flooding for the catchments listed from Tuesday onwards. Flood Classes (minor, moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service. River levels at Wamban are estimated from river levels at Riverview. The river level at Riverview peaked at about 8.2 metres around 10:00pm Sunday, with moderate flooding. Minor flooding is currently occurring.
Further rain is forecast for Tuesday. Renewed river rises are expected.
Deua River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Deua River at Wamban.
Renewed river rises are being observed upstream of Wamban at Riverview. The Deua River at Wamban will therefore experience renewed rises and may reach near 5.7 metres around 6:00 pm Tuesday.
