Expressions of Interest Batemans Bay Bridge Public Artwork Commission

On behalf of John Holland and Transport for NSW, Council's Public Art Advisory Committee is calling for expressions of interest from professional artists residing in NSW or the ACT experienced in delivering large scale, quality public art for the Batemans Bay Bridge Replacement Project Public Art Commission.

Working closely with Transport for NSW and Council, project construction contractor John Holland is commissioning a public artwork as part of the $274 million Batemans Bay Bridge replacement project due for completion in early 2023.The commissioned artwork will be installed in a 25 square metre area on the southern bank of the Clyde River, close to new bridge pedestrian underpass and Batemans Bay CBD.

The chosen artwork must:

consider the area's shared Aboriginal and European history, reflect community sensibilities and aspirations,

acknowledge the iconic and historic former bridge and respond to and enhance the unique natural beauty of the location.
