 Iridescent Healing Moruya - 2pm

 Narooma Breathing Space Yoga Studio – 10am

In what is one of their most popular fundraising events of the year, Share the Dignity

has invited yoga instructors across the country to donate a class to help raise funds

and awareness of the issues faced by women and girls experiencing homelessness,

domestic violence and period poverty.

Share the Dignity founder Rochelle Courtenay said she hoped that the event would

see women coming together to show solidarity and support for those in need in the

community.

“Every night, 48,000 Australian women face the indignity of homelessness, of not

having somewhere safe to lay their heads. We want to see 48,000 people pausing

as they downward dog to reflect on the horrible choices these women have to make

when they also don’t have access to sanitary items,” said Ms. Courtenay.

“So many women, every month, have to forfeit sanitary products because they

cannot afford them. Many mothers have to choose between buying tampons and

feeding their children. Girls miss out on school simply because families cannot afford

to buy the basics of necessities,” stressed Ms Courtenay.

Share the Dignity has donated and distributed more than 1.7 million sanitary items to

women and girls in need since 2015.
