Eurobodalla lifeguards tender awarded

Eurobodalla Council’s beach patrols will continue unchanged this summer following a recent tender for professional lifeguarding services.

Council pays for eight of the shire’s most popular beaches to be patrolled by professional lifeguards over the summer school holidays, complementing weekend and public holiday volunteer patrols by surf lifesaving clubs at Narooma, Broulee, Moruya and Batemans Bay.

Three tenders were received for the work, with Lifeguarding Services Australia awarded the four-year tender following a decision of Council at today’s meeting. The same company held the tender previously.

Last summer professional lifeguards performed more than 5,000 preventative actions and 45 rescues on Eurobodalla beaches.
