Essential Energy UPDATE 8:20pm Jan 6th 2020

Essential Energy advise at 8:20pm Jan 6th 2020

Power has now been successfully restored to 9,000 customers in Batemans Bay and Moruya, along with an additional 2,000 customers in Mossy Point and parts of Broulee and Tomakin.

As at 6.30pm, a total of 12,100 customers remain without power in the South Coast and Riverina areas of the network. Repair and restoration will continue as soon as we can gain safe access but we remind customers that for some, this may not be until later this week or next week.

Our crews are being supported by extra personnel, including more than 80 vegetation field staff and contractors who are assessing and removing where necessary hazardous trees to lessen the risk to our community, staff and the electricity network. Image from one of our crew showing a destroyed power pole in the Tumut area.

Thanks again for all the messages of support, and your understanding and patience.
