The Durras South Brigade will conduct the Get Ready Weekend on the October long weekend 2020. An information day will be held on Saturday 3rd October 2020 at the Durras Fire Station between hours 9.00 am to 2.00 pm under the verandah.
The Get Ready Weekend is a core community engagement activity conducted by the NSW RFS with the intention of preparing our community for the upcoming bush fire season. The 2019/2020 fire season was unprecedented in its scale and impact on NSW communities. Some communities were affected by the fires, some came close and others remain at a high risk.
The Durras Brigade is asking locals to spread the word and invite community members to come up to our fire shed on the Get Ready Weekend Saturday 3rd October to share stories about last season and seek advice on how best to prepare ourselves for the next fire season
