Dragons celebrate life member at AGM

Narooma Blue Water Dragons held their AGM last week and are pleased to announce the new office bearers for 2020 – 2021. Heather McMillian will take over the role of President from Carol Meindl with the other executive members, Donna Anderson (Vice President), Allison Steele (Secretary) and Susan Bowden (Treasurer) continuing with their roles for another year. General committee members are; Sally Davey, Donna Hendry, Carol Meindl and Jo Moxon. A big thank you to Carol Meindl, who for the past two years has displayed her extensive leadership skills, and, steered us through this last 10 months of unpredictable times. The highlight of the meeting was the conferring of life membership to Libby Shortridge. Libby is a founding member of the club with 10 years of continuing membership. Libby is a great team player, supports other paddlers, provides constructive feedback when necessary, and has capably filled leadership positions including President and Public Officer. Libby organises the team to support the community via the Clean Up Australia Day and Quota Trivia Fundraising evening. Finally, it is important to note that Libby’s husband Don has also provided wonderful support to the club. Don designed and supervised the construction of our shed, assists with ongoing maintenance, and, has designed and built items of equipment to ensure the safety of members as they take the boats in and out of the shed. A big thank you to local artist, Margaret Moran for the terrific painting of our shed that was presented to Libby as part of her lifetime membership award.
