As at 8.30pm March 25th, 2023, Dr Michael Holland has received 44.98 per cent of first preference votes counted so far for the seat of Bega.
By comparison Liberal candidate Russell Fitzpatrick has attracted a mere 28.67 per cent of first preferences.
In the two candidate preferred count, Dr Holland was well in front, 61.1 per cent to 38.9 per cent based on votes counted by 8.30pm.
Based on previous elections it might be some time before the Liberal candidate concedes defeat.
