Derek Hoare Takes Out Stroke Event

Under a beautiful sunny sky and despite the ongoing issues with the worldwide Coronavirus threat a smaller than usual field of 49 players registered for the day's Stroke event. Winner on the day following a short break from golf was Derek Hoare with a seven under par score of 28 nett. Derek was followed home on 29 by Julie Barningham and then Dorothy Madden and David Williams on 30 with Dorothy winning the count back. Balls or chocolates went to Shirley Quinlan, Robin Green, Barry Hoban and Ian Wratten on 32, Steve Gardner, Neal Watson and Greg Smith on 34, and then Frank Pomfret, Herb Muriwai, Ken Hush and Terry Lunn on 35.

The Bradman award this week was taken out by Geoff Bellingham whilst nearest the pins went to Steve Collins on both the 4th and 6th holes, and to Chris Wratten and Ken Brown on the 7th. Greg Smith took out the accuracy drive.
